Webinar “Fostering partnerships in higher education for the recognition of refugees’ qualifications”
The European Students’ Union (ESU), together with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Regional Bureau for Europe, will organise the webinar ‘Fostering partnerships in higher education for the recognition of refugees’ qualifications’. The webinar will take place on the 21st of May 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00 CEST, online.
Tentative agenda and invited organisations:
• Presentation from the hosts on the objective of the meeting – UNHCR and ESU (5 min);
• Presentation about the European Qualification Passport for Refugees – Council of Europe;
• Presentation about the recognition procedures for refugees in Europe, with a focus on Ukraine – ENIC-NARIC Network;
• Presentation about the role of the Global Recognition Convention for supporting refugees and the UNESCO Passport for Refugees – UNESCO;
• Q&A on previous 3 presentations;
• Presentation from higher education institution perspective and Q&A – International Association of Universities;
• Presentation of EU Talent Pool and Q&A – European Commission, Directorate-General for Employment, Inclusion and Social Affairs;
• Discussion among participants on how to foster synergies for supporting refugees access in higher education through recognition;
